Virtual dyno
Upload a log made for the dyno and get power and torque for each run, a quality check of every run, and a comparison with your last saved run. The numbers are estimated from how fast the car gains speed, its weight and its air and rolling resistance.
How to log a dyno run
- Only on a closed track or a test day. A run in a high gear to redline reaches very high speeds.
- Pick one gear and stay in it: 4th or 5th for most cars (3rd if the car has little power). Higher gears spin less and give smoother curves.
- Roll at about 2,000–2,500 rpm, go to full throttle and hold it to redline. Lift, don't shift.
- Use a flat stretch. Do two runs in opposite directions on the same stretch if you can, so slope and wind even out.
- Log at least: RPM, vehicle speed, gear, accelerator pedal and time. Add ambient pressure and intake air temperature for SAE correction.
- Enter the car's weight with driver and fuel. Every 50 kg is about 3% of the power figure.
